Masters Thesis

My Master’s Thesis ended up being my largest editorial design project. Beyond the general research and the purpose of the study itself, I felt that the way everything was presented was a crucial part of it. Since the thesis focused on post-disaster recovery and rebuilding strategies in post-blast Beirut, I aimed to illustrate the scattered dynamics of the relief teams, as well as the heterogeneous built environment and the social/urban fabric, while maintaining clear communication. At the same time, the amount of information required a format that would not overwhelm or exhaust the reader.
The result was a design that was far from monotonous, guided by a subtle rule, much like most cities that, like Beirut, expand from a single point.
